An Old Town meeting point beneath Unamuno’s bust, at the foot of the Mallona steps.
Plaza Miguel de Unamuno brings several Old Town walking routes together. Above the square, Victorio Macho’s bronze bust recalls the Bilbao-born writer; the Mallona steps rise from here, while the streets towards Plaza Nueva keep you within the old quarter.
Use the square as a meeting point or a pause before exploring the adjoining streets. For a small literary detour, the municipal walking route points towards Unamuno’s birthplace on nearby Calle Ronda.
