Cookies that keep the site working

City Break Planner uses essential session and security cookies. They keep requests secure and carry temporary notices between pages. They are not advertising cookies and normally expire after two hours of inactivity.

Saved on your device

My list stays in this browser’s local storage until you take things off it or clear this site’s browser data. Trip dates and filters appear in the page URL. The planner also keeps up to five recent searches. Cached search results are reused for two minutes; recent searches stay until replaced by newer searches or you clear this site’s browser data.

My list is not tied to an account. Opening it, or showing it on the Bilbao page, sends your saved place and event references to the server to show their current details. Sharing or exporting a trip also uses those details.

Shared trips

Creating a share link saves a snapshot of your trip and its dates on our server. Anyone with that link can view it. The link expires after 90 days; avoid putting private information in anything you share.

Maps, weather and external links

Maps use MapTiler and weather can use Open-Meteo. Loading maps, weather or images from an external provider may send that provider your IP address and request details. Their privacy policies apply to those requests.

Booking, ticket and venue links open other websites. Some links may include a referral identifier. Those sites control their own cookies and data use.

Logs and analytics

The server keeps operational logs to diagnose failures and maintain the site. We do not currently use advertising trackers or an analytics script.

Your choices

Take things off My list, or clear this site’s cookies and storage in your browser settings. Clearing storage removes My list and your cached searches from that browser. It does not revoke a share link that has already been created.
