A small wooded square beside San Vicente church, with old Abando beneath the Ensanche.
This small grove beside San Vicente church preserves a piece of the old open ground of Abando. Plans for the Ensanche once placed housing here, but the trees and public space survived, framed by late nineteenth-century homes.
Pair a short pause here with the larger Jardines de Albia nearby. Look up at the surrounding façades as well as the church: together they show how the older parish became part of the expanding city.
