Riverside gardens and a distinctive bandstand at the entrance to Bilbao’s Old Town.
The Arenal is the green riverside edge of the Old Town, between the Arriaga Theatre and San Nicolás church. Its gardens and bandstand provide a natural place to pause before heading into the surrounding streets. The bandstand was designed by Bilbao architect Pedro Ispizua.
Use the park as a starting point for a walk: Calle Correo leads towards Plaza Nueva, while the riverbank continues towards the Town Hall. Take a short circuit around the gardens before choosing between the Old Town and the waterfront.
