Grúa Karola
Attraction · Indautxu
A towering red shipyard crane beside Itsasmuseum, preserving a piece of Bilbao's working waterfront.
Carola rises above the former Euskalduna shipyard docks beside Itsasmuseum. The 60-metre crane once lifted and positioned heavy ship components; today its red steel frame makes the scale of Bilbao's shipbuilding industry tangible.
Take it in as part of a riverside walk past the old docks and Euskalduna bridge. For an evening visit, check Itsasmuseum's agenda for Carolaren Arima, the crane's light-and-sound installation.
