The Castaños square beside the lower station of Bilbao’s Artxanda funicular.
Plaza del Funicular is the starting point for the ride up to Artxanda from the Castaños neighbourhood. It is a short detour inland from the Campo Volantín riverside walk, with a vertical garden adding greenery beside the station.
Use the square to find the lower station before your trip uphill, and check the funicular operator’s current timetable and fares. The square and the funicular journey are separate parts of the visit; allow for the ride when planning your route.
