Plentzia
Attraction
Follow the estuary into a small maritime old town, then continue towards the beach.
- Travel time
- About 50 min from Bilbao
Plentzia combines an estuary-side walk, a maritime old town and a beach in one compact coastal outing. Cross the arched footbridge from the metro station into town, explore the older streets, then choose whether to continue along the waterfront towards the beach. The estuary and harbour make this worthwhile even when swimming is not the plan. The map marks the old-town area.
Allow about 50 minutes from Abando, including the short walk into town. Metro Bilbao line 1 reaches Plentzia in around 43 minutes; choose a train terminating at Plentzia and allow extra for waiting. Use the official tourism guide for maps and activities.
