Mundaka
Attraction
A small harbour at Urdaibai’s mouth, with surf watching when the wave is breaking.
- Travel time
- About 85 min from Bilbao
Mundaka is a small coastal town where the harbour opens onto the mouth of the Urdaibai estuary. Make the waterfront the centre of the visit: watch the boats, explore the streets behind the port and look out towards the estuary. Surf watching depends on the conditions. The map marks the harbour.
Allow about 85 minutes from central Bilbao, including the walk from the station to the harbour. Take Euskotren E4 from Zazpikaleak/Casco Viejo to Mundaka. Check outward and return departures before leaving; ordinary weekend daytime trains are less frequent than weekday services.
