Bermeo
Attraction
Fishing history, harbourfront walks and the old town above one of Bizkaia’s working ports.
- Travel time
- About 95 min from Bilbao
Bermeo offers a day centred on the harbour and the town’s fishing history. Walk around the old port, then explore the streets above it; the Fishermen’s Museum in Ercilla Tower adds context if you want more than a waterfront stroll. The working harbour gives the town a different feel from a beach-only coastal trip. The map marks the harbour area.
Allow about 95 minutes from central Bilbao, including the walk into the harbour area. Take Euskotren E4 from Zazpikaleak/Casco Viejo to Bermeo and plan the return before leaving. If adding a boat trip, use the official tourism plan and check its current calendar.
