Bilbao’s Fine Arts Museum brings together historic, modern and contemporary art, with a substantial Basque collection. The expanded museum reopened to visitors on 6 October 2026, bringing its historic buildings and new spaces into one visit.
Monday and Wednesday–Saturday, the museum opens 10:00–19:00, with collection rooms closing at 18:00. Tuesdays are free collection visits, 10:00–18:00; Sundays run 10:00–15:00. Rooms begin clearing 15 minutes before closing. On 24 and 31 December, hours are 10:00–15:00; the museum closes on 25 December and 1 and 6 January. Check the official visitor page for changes. Admission is free from 6 to 13 October 2026; use the official ticket page to arrange your visit.
The three entrances are Museo Plaza through the historic building, Plaza Eduardo Chillida through the modern building, and Atrio Arriaga. The atrium, café and shop can be accessed without an exhibition ticket.
