San Nikolas Eliza

Iglesia de San Nicolás

Landmark · Casco Viejo

Twin Baroque towers beside the Arenal, with a domed interior and richly carved altarpieces.

San Nicolás marks the edge of the Casco Viejo beside the Arenal. Opened in 1756, the church pairs a twin-towered Baroque façade with an unusually compact interior arranged beneath a dome.

If it is open when you pass, look for the rococo altarpieces and sculpture associated with Juan Pascual de Mena. It is a working church, so fit a quiet look around the building's worship rather than treating it as a timed museum stop.
